BIRPGear.com is a fledgling recycling business which will keep punctured bicycle innertubes out of landfills by crafting them into usable goods.
I work as a mechanic at a bicycle shop. I see many punctured tubes go into the trash each day. My goal is to divert some, if not all of these tubes to a business designed around creating unique and usable goods from punctured bicycle innertubes.
Below are some alpha phase products I sewed on an old Viking home sewing machine. It was quite frustrating. However, now I have a fairly heavy duty (though not commercial, unfortunately) Singer 638 machine which easily sews multiple layers of innertube, cordura and denim.
